Lift Engineering

Almost all newly built buildings require elevator installation. However, modern elevators are very complex and diverse. There are freight elevators, high speed elevators, specialized elevators in hospital complexes and more. They require a lot of specialists to maintain and service. The equipment park is large; the field of activity is wide. Demand for the profession is high in the medium term.


The purpose of the program

The purpose of this course is to provide students with a thorough grounding in the theory of Design, Building, Development of Elevators and Escalators as well as Service Maintenance. 
    a) provide students with comprehensive knowledge in the field of mathematics, mechanics and automated control systems;
    b) to give students a clear understanding of the production of elevators and escalators, as well as the service after their installation and sale;
    c) developing students' leadership and management skills, systematic thinking, in-depth understanding of the organization's consumer needs, as well as a focus on entrepreneurship and ongoing strategic and technological innovations;
    d) encourage students to apply the acquired skills and knowledge in practice;
    e) increase lifelong learning and personal development needs;
    f) preparation of cards with high knowledge and skills in the field of design and development of elevators and escalators.



The elevator engineering curriculum combines math and mechanics courses with an automated control system. Students will be introduced to the concepts of elevator and escalator design, application in production, as well as post-installation and after-sales service. At the end of the course, a group of students will work on their projects to develop elevators and escalators.

Career opportunities

Graduates can work as a mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, programmer engineer of mechatronic systems, elevator and escalator installation and maintenance specialist.
Graduates with a bachelor’s degree in elevator engineering can be employed in the fields of mechanical and mechatronic system design, as well as in the public and private sectors and in other similar specialties.
Engineers in the field of elevator engineering are engaged in the implementation of innovative projects in the production of elevators and escalators, the installation of manufactured elevators and escalators, and their maintenance. Engineers also collect the necessary information during the operation of elevators and escalators.
It should be noted that the operation of elevators is not a safe process, and the safety of people using elevators and escalators depends in many respects on the proper operation of the device.
Therefore, personal responsibility for elevator accidents and incidents is one of the responsibilities of engineers directly involved in the repair and adjustment of facilities.
A graduate with a bachelor’s degree in elevator engineering is a much-needed specialist in many countries in the region, from China to India, including the Central Asian region.
